A few things I wish I knew how to do…
This YouMoz entry was submitted by one of our community members. The author’s views are entirely his or her own (excluding an unlikely case of hypnosis) and may not reflect the views of Moz.
While I try and figure out how to upload photos to my YOUMoz blog posts, I thought I’d point out a few areas that I’d like to improve on and see what people have to say. At the same time, I’d like to encourage other people to note down those areas that they’d like to have some help with – the idea being that other people will offer them some (hopefully) good advice.
With that said, here is a list of three things that I’d like to do better:
1) Find quality people to write for my site. One of my dreams/goals of SEM Basics is to get a variety of different people to write for the site. In particular, I would like to find people with expertise in various different aspects that go into creating a profitable online business. For example, perhaps one person who has some expertise on e-mail marketing, another on social media sites, etc. Up-to-date I haven’t been so successful at this. Any ideas?
2) Create a mini-blog network. Similar to my idea of finding people to write for my site, I’ve also envisioned trying to create a mini-blog network of blogs that relate to different aspects of creating a successful online business. The idea is to share traffic and ideas as well as offer a broader range of content. We would reference quality, relevant posts, invite each other onto our respective blogs, etc. Again, the idea is to diversify the number of subjects that are being covered well. As of now, though, it’s still just an idea.
3) Manage my time better. Running a virtual site can virtually run your life – at least that’s how it is for me at times. Creating quality content alone can take a long time, not to mention getting that content online, marketing the content, etc. I’m getting better at handling it all, but better doesn’t equal good (and I’d like to be good at this one).
Well, that’s a start – there are other areas that I can improve on, but for now I just kind of want to get the conversation started. So, let’s discuss away. What ideas do you have to offer and what problems would you like help solving?
All the best,
Moshe Morris, SEM Basics: http://www.sembasics.com
